ATCO Plantation - NON-GAME HUNTING

In a game rich environment, non-game hunting is a necessity.  Coyotes and Wild Hogs are competing for resources and they have to be kept in check.  Non- Game hunting at ATCO Plantation means controlling the animals who have no natural predators.

Coyote Hunting

Coyotes have a wide range in Southeast Georgia, and they are opportunistic hunters.  They kill wildlife and domesticated animals.  Coyotes prefer to hunt in packs, but they also hunt solo.  Have you ever heard a pack of coyotes moving through a wooded area?  They can run 45 miles an hour and they are strategic hunters.  There is no season on Coyote hunting, and it is a necessity at ATCO Plantation.

Wild Hog Hunting

Wild hogs thrive in swamps and along rivers.  Anyone who has land near a swamp or river has experienced the devastation of crops that only wild hogs can cause.  They live up to the name pig when it comes to eating crops.  While they are eating, they make a mess of things.  Wild pig populations grow quickly, so when one is seen there are many already on the land.  Because there is no season on wild hog hunting, ATCO Plantation actively hunts them.
